Parameters

Name Meaning

oid

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

IfIndex

Indicates the interface index.

EventLogIndex

Indicates the index of the printed log.

EventLogTimestamp

Indicates the time stamp that records when the event occurs.

EventLogOui

Indicates the OUI of an event.

EventLogType

Indicates the type of an event.

EventLogLocation

Indicates where the event occurs (1 indicates local end, 2 indicates peer end).

EventLogWindowHi

Indicates the high-order value of the monitoring interval.

EventLogWindowLo

Indicates the low-order value of the monitoring interval.

EventLogThresholdHi

Indicates the high-order value of the threshold of the monitoring interval.

EventLogThresholdLo

Indicates the low-order value of the threshold of the monitoring interval.

EventLogValue

Indicates the number of times that the threshold-crossing event occurs.

EventLogRunningTotal

Indicates the number of event occurrences.

EventLogEventTotal

Indicates the number of event notifications.

Impact on the System

Services cannot be forwarded.

Possible Causes

1. The user configured the efm error-code threshold 0,efm error-frame threshold 0 or efm error-frame-second threshold 0 command on the interface.

2. The physical link became faulty, causing the error frame or error code.

Procedure

  1. Check the value of the EventLogType field in the trap:

    • 1: indicates a trap about error codes. Then, go to Step 2.

    • 2: indicates a trap about error frames. Then, go to Step 3.

    • 4: indicates a trap about error frame seconds. Then, go to Step 4.

  2. Run the display this command in the interface view to check whether the efm error-code threshold 0 command is configured.

    • If so, go to Step 6.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  3. Run the display this command in the interface view to check whether the efm error-frame threshold 0 command is configured.

    • If so, go to Step 7.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  4. Run the display this command in the interface view to check whether the efm error-frame-second threshold 0 command is configured.

    • If so, go to Step 8.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  5. Check whether the physical link is faulty.

    • If so, go to Step 9.

    • If not, go to Step 10.

  6. Run the efm error-code threshold threshold command in the interface view to reconfigure the threshold for detecting error frames on the current interface as required. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If so, go to Step 11.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  7. Run the efm error-frame threshold threshold command in the interface view to reconfigure the threshold for detecting error frames on the current interface as required. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If so, go to Step 11.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  8. Run the efm error-frame-second threshold threshold command in the interface view to reconfigure the threshold for detecting error frame seconds on the current interface as required. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If so, go to Step 11.

    • If not, go to Step 5.

  9. Change the physical link and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If so, go to Step 11.

    • If not, go to Step 10.

  10. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
  11. End.
