Possible Causes

The number of secure MAC addresses or sticky MAC addresses exceeds the upper limit.

Procedure

View the interface status in the alarm information.
- If the interface status is Restrict (packets are discarded because the rate limit is exceeded), go to 2.
- If the interface status is Errordown, go to 3.
Run the port-security max-mac-num max-number command to increase the maximum number of MAC address learning. Check whether the alarm is cleared.
- If the alarm is cleared, go to 5.
- If the alarm is not cleared, go to 4.
Perform error-down auto-recovery cause port-security interval interval-value on the interface, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.
- If the alarm is cleared, go to 5.
- If the alarm is not cleared, go to 4.
