Description

MRM/3/hwIpMcastSGThresholdExceed:OID [oid] Multicast routing total (S, G) entries of all instances count reached the upper threshold. (hwIpMcastSGCurrentCount=[integer], hwIpMcastSGThreshold=[integer]%, hwIpMcastSGTotalCount=[integer])

The proportion of global (S, G) multicast forwarding entries created to the maximum global (S, G) multicast forwarding entries allowed reached the upper alarm threshold.

Parameters

Name Meaning

oid

Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.

hwIpMcastSGCurrentCount

Number of global (S, G) multicast forwarding entries created

hwIpMcastSGThreshold

Alarm threshold for global (S, G) multicast forwarding entries

hwIpMcastSGTotalCount

Maximum number of global (S, G) multicast forwarding entries allowed

Impact on the System

If you continue to configure multicast services after this alarm is reported, new multicast services may fail to be provisioned due to the lack of (S, G) multicast forwarding entry resources.

Possible Causes

The proportion of global (S, G) multicast forwarding entries created to the maximum global (S, G) multicast forwarding entries allowed reached the upper alarm threshold.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the upper alarm threshold is too low in the configuration file.

    • If the threshold is too low, go to Step 2.

    • If the threshold is not low, go to Step 3.

  2. Run the multicast forwarding-table source-group-number threshold-alarm upper-limit upper-limit-value lower-limit lower-limit-value command in the multicast MIB view to set the upper alarm threshold to a larger value.
  3. Confirm whether network expansion is required. If network expansion is required, contact technical support personnel.
  4. End.
