Cause 1:
The number of STP interfaces that were Up on a device exceeded the upper threshold.
If some of the interfaces can have SPT disabled, go to Step 2.
If all the interfaces cannot have SPT disabled, go to Step 3.
If the device no longer receives this alarm, the alarm is cleared.
If the device still receives this alarm, the number of STP interfaces that are Up remains greater than the upper threshold. In this situation, go to Step 2.
