Description

POE/4/PWRUTITHRESH: OID [oid] PSE is overdrawing power. (SlotID=[I NTEGER], ConsumingPower=[INTEGER], PowerThreshold=[INTEGER])

The total PoE power consumption is greater than or equal to the alarm threshold.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.195.40.17 Warning communicationsAlarm(2)

Parameters

Name Meaning
oid Indicates the MIB object ID of the alarm.
SlotID Indicates the ID of the slot where the alarm is generated.
ConsumingPower Indicates the current power consumption.
PowerThreshold Indicates the power threshold.

Impact on the System

If the alarm persists, all the PDs may be powered off because of insufficient power supply.

Possible Causes

The total power consumption of all the PDs is greater than or equal to the alarm threshold.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the power consumption of the PDs is within the accepted range.
    • If so, go to step 2.
    • If not, go to step 3.
  2. Run the poe power-threshold command to change the alarm threshold for PoE power consumption percentage.
  3. Replan the network based on the system external power supply capability. Run the poe priority command to increase the priority of important PDs to prevent their power from being occupied by other PDs. Power off the PDs that are not required to ensure system reliability.
