SHELL/4/CHANGE_PASSWORD_FAIL:Failed to change the password. (Ip=[STRING], VpnName=[STRING], UserName=[STRING], Times=[ULONG], FailedReason=[STRING])

Description

A user that logged in to the device using Telnet or the console interface failed to change the password.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
Ip User IP address
VpnName VPN instance name
UserName User name
Times Number of password change attempts
FailedReason Reason for the password change failure

Possible Causes

Changing the password failed.

Procedure

  • Use the correct old password and specify a valid new password to complete the change without exceeding the maximum number of change attempts (10).
  • If the maximum number of password change attempts has been reached, log out and log in to the device again using Telnet or the console interface. Then complete the password change without exceeding the maximum number of change attempts (10).
