An SSH user failed to log in.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
IP IP address of the SSH user
VpnInstanceName Name of a VPN instance.
UserName User name of the SSH user

FailedReason Cause for the login failure

Possible Causes

An SSH user failed to log in. Information, including the IP address, user name, and numbers of the login failures, was logged.

Procedure

  1. Based on FailedReason, determine how to rectify the fault.
    1. If FailedReason indicates that the login failed due to an authentication failure, use the correct user name and password to log in.
    2. If FailedReason indicates that the login failed due to a low SSH user level, perform the following operations:

      1. Run the display ssh user-information command to view the authentication mode of the SSH user.

        1. If the authentication mode is ECC, RSA or DSA, run the user-interface vty command to enter the VTY channel to which the user attempts to log in.

          1. Run the display this command to check whether the SSH user is an administrator.

          2. If the SSH user is not an administrator, run the user privilege level command to set the SSH user to an administrator.

        2. If the authentication mode is not ECC, RSA or DSA, run the aaa command to enter the AAA view. If the SSH user is authenticated by a remote server, set the SSH user to an administrator on the remote server.

        3. Run the display this command to check whether the SSH user is authenticated by a remote or local server.

        4. If the SSH user is authenticated by a local server and the SSH user is not an administrator, run the user privilege level command to set the SSH user to an administrator.

        5. If the SSH user is authenticated by a remote server, set the SSH user to an administrator on the remote server.

  2. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
