Message

SW_SNPG/3/MSG_INVALID_NEXTHOP:Alloc a next hop index failed. (SrcAddr=[STRING], GrpAddr=[STRING], Vlan=[LONG])

Description

The next hop index failed to be allocated.

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
Vlan Indicates a VLAN ID.
SrcAddr Indicates a source IP address.
GrpAddr Indicates a group IP address.

Possible Causes

The number of multicast forwarding entries has reached the upper limit.

Procedure

  1. Run the display igmp-snooping port-info command to check group member port information in all VLANs. Or run the display l2-multicast forwarding-table vlan [ vlan-id ] command to check Layer 2 multicast forwarding entries in a specified VLAN.
  2. Find the groups that are no longer needed based on the command output, and then run the reset igmp-snooping group vlan [ vlan-id ] group-address [ group-address ] command in the user view to delete redundant Layer 2 multicast forwarding entries. In this way, index resources can be released. Then re-configure multicast services. If this log persists, go to step 3.
  3. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel. You can collect diagnostic information using the display diagnostic-information command.
