Name Meaning

OID

Indicates the ID of a MIB object.

APMAC Indicates the MAC address of the AP.
APName Indicates the AP name.
ApIfIndex Indicates the AP interface index.
ApEntityPhysicalName Indicates the AP interface name.

Impact on the System

When STP detects a local loopback, it determines that a network storm occurs and will trigger shutdown of the local interface to prevent the storm from affecting services on the entire network; however, services on the shutdown interface will be interrupted.

Possible Causes

After STP detects a loopback on an interface, the device shuts down the interface to prevent a loop.

Procedure

  1. Check whether local loopback is configured on the interface where the alarm is generated.

    • Y=>4

    • N=>2

  2. Check whether a hub is incorrectly connected on the network connected to the interface.

    • Y=>5

    • N=>3

  3. Collect alarm information, log information, and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
  4. Delete configurations that cause the local loopback.
  5. Remove the self-looped cable.
  6. End
