Description

WLAN/4/AP_MEM_OVERLOAD: OID [oid] AP memory overload notify.(APMAC=[OPAQUE], APName=[STRING], ApMemRate=[INTEGER], APID=[INTEGER])

The AP's memory usage exceeds the upper threshold.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.139.13.1.1.9 Warning equipmentAlarm(5)

Parameters

Name Meaning
oid Indicates the ID of a MIB object.
APMAC Indicates the AP's MAC address.
APName Indicates the AP name.
ApMemRate Indicates the AP's memory usage.
APID Indicates the AP ID.

Impact on the System

The memory usage exceeds the upper threshold. If the threshold is not high (for example, 50% or 60%), services are not affected. If the threshold is high (for example 90%), the AP reports the alarm, and packet loss may occur on the AP or the AP may be disconnected.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The memory alarm threshold is low.

Cause 2: The device provides too many services.

Procedure

  1. Run the display ap-system-profile command to check the alarm threshold for memory usage. Check whether the alarm threshold is set properly.

    • If so, go to step 3.
    • If not, go to step 2.

  2. Run the memory-usage threshold command to set a proper alarm threshold for memory usage. After that, check whether the alarm persists.

    • If the alarm persists, go to step 3.
    • If the alarm is cleared, go to step 5.

  3. 3. Delete unnecessary services and configurations to reduce memory usage. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If the alarm persists, go to step 4.
    • If the alarm is cleared, go to step 5.

  4. Collect alarms, logs, and configurations, and then contact technical support personnel.
  5. End.
