Configuring a Multicast Group

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run btv

    The broadcast TV (BTV) view is displayed.

  3. Run multicast-group group-name { ip-address ipv4-group-address [ source ipv4-source-address ] | ipv6-address ipv6-group-address [ source ipv6-source-address ] }

    A multicast group is configured.

    • If user hosts run IGMPv1 or IGMPv2, you do not need to specify ipv4-source-address. If user hosts run Internet Group Management Protocol version 3 (IGMPv3), you can specify ipv4-source-address.

    • If user hosts run Multicast Listener Discovery version 1 (MLDv1), you do not need to specify ipv6-source-address. If user hosts run MLDv2, you can specify ipv6-source-address.

    • If the address of a newly configured multicast group is the same as that of an existing group but the parameter group-name differs, the name of the multicast group is changed after you run this command.
