If a DHCP client is disconnected before the client's dynamic MAC address entry is aged out, the DHCP snooping-enabled device continues to forward messages destined for the disconnected DHCP client based on the MAC address entry. This causes the device performance to deteriorate.
The DHCP client sends a DHCP Release message when it is disconnected. Upon receiving the message, the device immediately deletes the DHCP snooping binding entry of the DHCP client. With this function enabled, the device also deletes the corresponding MAC address entry. In this way, the device no longer forwards packets to the disconnected DHCP client.
The system view is displayed.
The device deletes the MAC address entry of a DHCP client when the dynamic binding entry is deleted.
By default, a device does not delete the MAC address entry of a DHCP client when the dynamic binding entry is deleted.
