Configuring Selection of the Optimal Clock Source in Automatic Mode

An external clock source can be a PTP, or line clock source. A switch selects the optimal clock source for synchronous Ethernet in automatic mode.

1. Perform one or two of the following operations based on the clock source used by the switch:

   • Configuring a PTP Clock Source
   • Configuring a Line Clock Source

2. Configuring the Automatic Clock Source Selection Mode

3. (Optional) Configuring Attributes of a Clock Source

Configuring Selection of the Optimal Clock Source in Manual Mode

If a clock source with the highest SSM quality level has been determined as the optimal clock source, you can manually specify this clock source as the reference clock.

1. Perform one of the following operations based on the clock source used by the switch:

   • Configuring a PTP Clock Source
   • Configuring a Line Clock Source

3. (Optional) Configuring Attributes of a Clock Source

Configuring Selection of the Optimal Clock Source in Forcible Mode

If a clock source becomes faulty, you can forcibly select another clock source as the reference clock.

   • Configuring a PTP Clock Source
   • Configuring a Line Clock Source
