Collecting and Viewing Statistics on Tunnel Interfaces

Context

To check network status or locate network faults, you can enable traffic statistics collection on tunnel interfaces and collect traffic statistics on tunnel interfaces.

Procedure

Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
Run the interface tunnel interface-number command to create a tunnel interface and enter the tunnel interface view.
Run the statistic enable { both | inbound | outbound } command to enable traffic statistics collection on a tunnel interface.
By default, traffic statistics collection is disabled on a tunnel interface.
Run the display interface tunnel command to display traffic statistics on the tunnel interface.

Follow-up Procedure

Run the reset counters interface tunnel [ interface-number ] command in the user view to reset statistics on a tunnel interface to differentiate between the original statistics.

After you reset the statistics on a specified tunnel interface, statistics information about the number of sent and received packets and the packet transmission rate are cleared. Exercise caution when you run this command.
