Configuring Fiber Fault Diagnosis

Context

The optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) testing function helps you determine whether a fault occurs on an optical fiber. You can enable OTDR testing on an interface to obtain reflection distances of optical fibers and configure an OTDR test result as the OTDR birth certificate to provide a baseline for fault detection. By comparing the fiber reflection distances in OTDR test results and the OTDR birth certificate, you can determine whether an fault occurs on an optical fiber.

Procedure

Run the otdr capture interface interface-type interface-number command in any view to perform an OTDR test on a specified interface.
This command can be run multiple times.
Run the display otdr capture history-record interface interface-type interface-number command in any view to check historical OTDR test results on a specified interface.
Run the otdr certificate interface interface-type interface-number capture-number command in any view to configure an OTDR test result as the OTDR birth certificate on a specified interface.
Run the display otdr certificate interface interface-type interface-number command in any view to view the OTDR birth certificate on a specified interface.
