(Optional) Configuring Source Filtering

Context

When an IGMP proxy device needs to restrict multicast data packets from some multicast sources, configure a source filtering policy on the IGMP proxy device. Then the IGMP proxy device can filter multicast data packets based on source addresses or source and group addresses.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run igmp [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name ]

    The IGMP view is displayed.

  3. Run proxy source-policy acl-number

A source filtering policy is configured to filter received multicast data packets based on source addresses or source and group addresses.

By default, an IGMP proxy device does not filter received multicast data packets based on source addresses or source and group addresses.

If you specify a basic access control list (ACL) in the command, the switch forwards multicast data packets with group addresses permitted by the ACL.

If you specify an advanced ACL in the command, the switch forwards multicast data packets with both source addresses and group addresses permitted by the ACL.

Source filtering policies do not filter multicast data packets of multicast groups or sources and groups statically bound to an interface.
