Filtering Multicast Data on an Interface

Context

You can configure the switch to filter out multicast data packets from a specified VLAN on an interface.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.

  3. Run multicast-source-deny [ vlan { vlan-id1 [ to vlan-id2 ] } &<1-10> ]

The switch is configured to filter out multicast data from the specified VLANs.

You must specify a VLAN to which the interface has already been added. Otherwise, the configuration does not take effect.

This command can discard only multicast data packets that meet both of the following conditions:
    • The destination MAC address is an IP multicast MAC address (IPv4 MAC address starting with 0x01005E or IPv6 multicast MAC address starting with 0x3333).
    • The packet encapsulation protocol is UDP.
