Clearing Interface Statistics

Context

To monitor the status of an Ethernet interface or locate faults on the interface, collect traffic statistics on the interface. Before collecting traffic statistics on an Ethernet interface within a period, clear the existing traffic statistics on this interface.

Traffic statistics cannot be restored after being cleared. Confirm your operation before clearing them.

Procedure

Run the reset counters interface [ interface-type [ interface-number ] ] command to clear statistics on a specified interface.
Run the reset counters if-mib interface [ interface-type [ interface-number ] ] command to clear interface traffic statistics displayed on the NMS.
Run the reset statistics-peak interface interface-type interface-number command to clear peak rate statistics on an interface.
Run the reset virtual-cable-test { interface-type interface-number | all } command to clear virtual cable test results on an interface.
