Setting the Delay in Sending Traps About Neighbor Information Changes

Context

When neighbor information changes frequently, a delay in sending traps about neighbor information changes prevents the device from sending traps to the NMS too frequently, suppressing topology flapping.

The delay takes effect for the lldpRemTablesChange trap generated when a neighbor is added, aged, or discarded (a new neighbor is discarded if the number of neighbors on an interface or switch has reached the upper limit).

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run lldp trap-interval interval

The delay in sending neighbor change traps to the NMS is set.

The default delay in sending neighbor change traps to the NMS is 5 seconds.
