(Optional) Enabling the Mesh-Group Function

Context

To reduce the load on concurrent links between two switches, you can enable the mesh-group function.

A neighboring router ID uniquely identifies a mesh group. A mesh group contains several concurrent links, and flooding is implemented only once after the group is created. Interfaces can be added to the same mesh group only when the following conditions are met:

  • The interfaces belong to the same area and OSPF process.
  • The status of the interfaces is higher than Exchange.
  • The interfaces connect to the same neighboring switch.

Perform the following steps on a switch running OSPF.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run ospf [ process-id ]

The OSPF process view is displayed.

  3. Run mesh-group enable

    The mesh-group function is enabled.

By default, the mesh-group function is disabled.
