The more BPDUs sent from a port within an interval of the Hello timer, the more system resources consumed. Setting a proper transmission rate (packet-number) on a port prevents excess bandwidth usage when network flapping occurs.
The system view is displayed.
The view of the Ethernet interface that participates in spanning tree calculation is displayed.
The maximum transmission rate of BPDUs (BPDUs per second) is set for the port.
By default, a port sends a maximum of six BPDUs per second. To set the maximum transmission rate of BPDUs for all ports on a device, run the stp transmit-limit command in the system view.
