Configuring Root Protection on a Port

Procedure

1. Run system-view

   The system view is displayed.

2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

   The view of the interface that participates in STP calculation is displayed.

3. Run stp root-protection

   Root protection is enabled on the port.

   By default, root protection is disabled on a port. Root protection takes effect only on designated ports. Generally, root protection is configured on the interfaces of the root bridge.

   Root protection and loop protection cannot be configured on the same port.
