Removing an AS

Context

You can remove an online AS from an SVF system to restore the AS to a standalone device.

If the parent is connected to an AS across a Layer 2 network, to restore the AS to a standalone device, run the undo_uni-mng_enable command on the AS.

If the parent is directly connected to an AS, before running the undo_uni-mng_enable command on the AS to restore the AS to a standalone device, you must disconnect cables between the AS and parent. Otherwise, the AS registers with the parent again after restarting and enters the AS mode. The following describes the procedure for removing an AS when the parent is directly connected to the AS:

Procedure

  1. Run the display uni-mng topology information by-name command on the parent to check SVF network topology information based on the device name. Based on the command output, check the physical port connecting the AS to the parent.
  2. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.
  3. Run the interface interface-type interface-number command on the parent to enter the view of the physical port connecting the parent to the AS.
  4. Run the shutdown command on the parent to set the physical port connecting the parent to the AS to Down.
  5. Log in to the AS through the console port of the AS, and run the undo_uni-mng_enable command on the AS to restore the AS to a standalone device.
  6. (Optional) Delete the configuration of the AS fabric port from the parent.

If a new AS will be connected to the parent, you do not need to perform the following operations to delete the AS fabric port configuration. Subsequently, to connect a new AS to the parent, you just need to run the undo shutdown command on the physical port connecting the parent to the AS.

    1. Run the display uni-mng interface fabric-port state command to check the fabric port to which the physical port in step 3 belongs.
    2. Run the interface interface-type interface-number command to enter the view of the physical port connecting the parent to the AS.
    3. Run the undo eth-trunk command to remove the physical port from the Eth-Trunk.
    4. Run the uni-mng command to enter the uni-mng view.
    5. Run the interface fabric-port port-id command to enter the view of the fabric port to which the physical port belongs.
    6. Run the undo port member-group interface command to unbind the fabric port from the Eth-Trunk.
    7. Run the quit command to exit from the fabric port view.
    8. Run the undo interface fabric-port port-id command to delete the fabric port.
