Installing Patches on an AS

Context

In an SVF system, the parent and ASs need to have patches installed separately. The method of installing patches on the parent is the same as that on a standalone device. The following describes only the procedure of installing patches on an AS. For more details, see "Patch Loading to an SVF System" in the Patch Release Notes.

If an AS already has patches installed, delete the previous patch file and then install the new patch file.

Procedure

  1. Upload the AS patch file to the root directory cfcard:/ or flash:/ of the parent through FTP.
  2. Run move source-filename destination-filename

The AS patch file is saved to the root directory unimng/ of the parent.

  3. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  4. Run uni-mng

    The uni-mng view is displayed.

  5. Run upgrade { local-ftp-server | local-sftp-server } username username password password

A local file server is configured.

By default, no local file server is configured on the parent.

If no local file server is configured, an AS cannot download patch files from the parent and so cannot have patches installed.

  6. Run as type as-type patch patch

A patch file to be installed on the AS is configured.

  7. Run return

    Exit from the system view.

  8. Run save

    The configuration is saved.

  9. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  10. Run uni-mng

    The uni-mng view is displayed.

  11. Run upgrade as name as-name

The patch file is installed on the AS.
