  • On the S5700-SI, S5700-EI, and S5700-HI in V200R003 or V200R005, a GE interface can go Up after it has a GE copper module installed. However, you cannot run corresponding commands to configure the rate, duplex mode, auto-negotiation, MDI, flow control, and virtual cable test on the interface. • For switches in V200R003C00 and earlier versions, only Layer 2 Ethernet interfaces on the S5700-HI, S5710-EI, and S5710-HI can be configured as Layer 3 interfaces. For switches in V200R005C00 and later versions, only Layer 2 Ethernet interfaces on the S5700-HI, S5710-EI, S5710-HI, S5700-EI, S6700-EI, S5720-EI, S5720-HI, S5730-HI, S5731-H, S5731S-H, S5731-S, S5731S-S, S5732-H, S6720-HI, S6730-H, S6730S-H, S6730-S, S6730S-S, S6720-EI, and S6720S-EI can be configured as Layer 3 interfaces.

If the license becomes invalid or is deactivated, GE optical interfaces on the switch are still displayed as XGE optical interfaces in the command output before the switch is restarted. After the switch is restarted, XGE optical interfaces restore to GE optical interfaces.
  • If the license is loaded and activated on the S5720-28P-LI-AC, S5720-28P-PWR-LI-AC, S5720-52P-LI-AC, and S5720-52P-PWR-LI-AC in V200R011C00 and later versions and the switch is restarted, configuration information will be lost in the following scenarios. Reconfigure the device and run the save command to save the configuration.
    1. In the standalone and stack systems, when the configuration file contains configurations implemented using commands in which GE uplink interfaces are specified and no key word interface is before the specified GE uplink interfaces in views excluding the interface view, such configurations are completely lost if the switch is restarted after the license is loaded.
    2. In the standalone and stack systems, when the configuration file contains configurations implemented using commands in which the key work interface is contained and the specified interfaces are GE uplink interfaces in views excluding the interface view, such configurations and configurations of the GE uplink interfaces are lost if the switch is restarted after the license is loaded.
    3. Assume that a stack system configuration file contains the configuration of a GE uplink port of a member switch. Load the license and restart the stack system. The GE uplink port configuration will be lost if this switch joins the stack system after the stack system is set up.
