Licensing Requirements and Limitations for MAC Swap Loopback

Involved Network Elements

Other network elements are not required.

Licensing Requirements

MAC swap loopback is a basic feature of a switch and is not under license control.

Feature Support in V200R019C10

All models of S2720, S5700, and S6700 series switches support MAC SWAP Loopback. The S5735-L, S5735S-L, S5735S-L-M, S5735-S, S5735-S-I, and S5735S-S support only remote MAC swap loopback.

For details about software mappings, visit Hardware Query Tool and search for the desired product model.

Feature Limitations

  • The MAC swap loopback test cannot be used with the ACL (including the ACL used in CAR, traffic statistics, and 802.1p priority re-marking) that matches the source and destination MAC addresses of loopback test packets.

  • After ALS is configured on the S6700-EI, MAC swap loopback becomes ineffective. When MAC swap loopback needs to be configured on the S6700-EI, do not configure ALS.

  • When the remote MAC swap loopback function is configured on the S5735-L, S5735S-L, S5735S-L-M, S5735-S, S5735-S-I, or S5735S-S:
    • MAC addresses will not be learned on interfaces where MAC swap loopback is configured.
    • If the efm loopback start command is configured on an interface and the interface is in remote loopback state, the loopback remote swap-mac command cannot be configured. If the loopback remote swap-mac command is configured, the efm loopback start command cannot be configured.
