Licensing Requirements and Limitations for VLL

VLL is a basic feature of a switch and is not under license control.

Only the following switch models support VLL:

S5720-EI, S5720-HI, S5730-HI, S5731-H, S5731S-H, S5732-H, S6720-EI, S6720-HI, S6720S-EI, S6730S-H, and S6730-H

Do not add the PW to VLAN 1. If the PW is added to VLAN 1, the AC joins VLAN 1 in untagged mode and VLAN tags of packets are removed.
By default, link type negotiation is enabled globally on the device. If a VLANIF interface is used as an AC-side interface for VLL, the configuration conflicts with link type negotiation. In this case, run the lnp disable command in the system view to disable link type negotiation.
After receiving Layer 2 protocol packets such as STP, VBST, SMLK, LDT/LBDT, LACP, 3AH, 1AG, Y.1731, HGMP, LLDP, DLDP, GVRP, HVRP, DAD, LNP, VCMP, RRPP, ERPS, SEP, and BFD packets from an AC interface, a PE device determines whether it needs to process the packets. If not (for example, Layer 2 protocols are disabled), the PE device transparently transmits the Layer 2 protocol packets through the VLL.
When the L2VPN function is configured on a switch and the AC-side outbound interface is configured as an Eth-Trunk interface, only the S5720-HI, S5730-HI, S5731-H, S5732-H, S5731S-H, S6720-HI, S6730S-H, and S6730-H running V2R13C00 and later versions support IP address-based load balancing.
If the PW-side routing interface is a Layer 3 interface switched by the undo portswitch command, the AC-side interface cannot be a Layer 3 routing interface or its sub-interface belonging to a Layer 3 interface; otherwise, traffic fails to be forwarded. This rule applies to S5710-EI, S5720-EI, S6720-EI, and S6720S-EI.
