Four security mechanisms are available on the Wide Local Area Network (WLAN): Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), WPA II (WPA2), and WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure (WAPI). WEP uses a shared key to authenticate users and encrypt service packets. Since the shared key is easy to decipher, WEP is not recommended due to its low security.
Switches support the Station (STA) blacklist and whitelist function to filter STAs based on specified rules and ensure that only authorized STAs can access the WLAN.
