Impact on the System

When the link between a device and a policy server becomes faulty, users that get online through this link are switched to another Up link. If there is no Up link, the users cannot deliver and process services using the policy server.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: A policy server became faulty.

Cause 2: The local IP address or port of the link was changed.

Cause 3: The peer IP address or port of the link was changed.

Procedure

1. Run the display diameter configuration command to check the link status of the Diameter.

  • If the link is in the Up state, please go to Step 4.
  • If the link is in the Down state, please go to Step 2.
  • If the link is in the Error state, please go to Step 4.

2. Run the display diameter configuration command to view configurations of the local and peer devices at two ends of a specified link, including the local interface IP, client port, and peer port. Then, log in to the policy server to check whether configurations of the local and peer devices at two ends of a specified link that are displayed on the portal page are identical with that in the display diameter configuration command output.

  • If identical, please go to Step 4.
  • If different, please go to Step 3.

3. Run the diameter-local and diameter-peer commands in the system view to make configurations of the local and peer devices at two ends of a specified link identical with that displayed on the portal page. Run the display diameter configuration command to check the link status.

  • If the link is in the Up state, please go to Step 5.
  • If the link is in the Error state, please go to Step 4.

4. Collect alarm information, log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
