Trap Buffer Parameters

Parameter Description

hwClockChassisId

ID of the chassis where the clock source is located. The value is fixed to 1 for a single chassis.

hwClockPllId

ID of the clock source type. The options are as follows:

  • system(1): system phase-locked loop
  • sync2M1(2): 2M PLL-1
  • sync2M2(3): 2M PLL-2.

hwClockLastSourceName

Name of the clock source before the switching.

hwClockCurSourceName

Name of the current clock source.

hwClockSrcSelChassisIndex

Index of the chassis where the clock source is located. In the case of a single chassis, the value is fixed to 1.

hwClockSrcSelType

Type of the clock source. The value can be:

  • system(1): system phase-locked loop
  • sync2M1(2): 2M PLL-1
  • sync2M2(3): 2M PLL-2.

hwClockSrcSelMode

Clock source selection mode. The value can be:

  • auto(0): automatic clock source selection.
  • manual(1): manual clock source selection.
  • force(2): forcible clock source selection.

Impact on the System

The local clock may be inaccurate.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: The attributes of the clock device on the network change. As a result, the current master clock is switched.

Cause 2: The link was faulty or the interface went down.

Cause 3: The clock source was manually switched in manual or force mode.

Procedure

1. Run the display clock config command to check the running mode of the clock source.

  • If the running mode of the clock source is free, the clock source is in free-run mode. Go to Step 6.
  • If the running mode of the clock source is hold, the clock source is forcibly held. In this case, go to Step 6.
  • If the running mode of the clock source is normal, go to Step 2.

2. Run the display clock config command to check the clock source selection mode.

  • If the clock source selection mode is manual or force, the clock source is forcibly switched. In this case, go to Step 6.
  • If the clock source selection mode is auto, go to Step 3.

3. Run the display clock source command to check whether the clock source status is normal.

  • If the clock source status is not normal, the clock source is abnormal. In this case, go to Step 5.
  • If the clock source status is normal, go to Step 4.

4. Run the display clock source command to check whether the attributes of the clock source change.

  • If the attributes of the clock source change, go to Step 6.
  • If the attributes of the clock source do not change, go to Step 5.

5. Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support.

6. End.
