Trap Buffer Description

Eth half duplex. (IfIndex=[hwPhysicalPortIfIndex],IfName=[hwPhysicalPortName])

Interface negotiation into half-duplex mode, resulting in a large number of packet loss.

In VS mode, this trap is supported only by the admin VS.

Impact on the System

In half-duplex mode, bidirectional traffic may be lost.

Possible Causes

Port configurations are different between the two sides (one port is set to speed force, and the other port is set to negotiation). As a result, the ports negotiate to half-duplex, and packet loss occurs, triggering a half-duplex alarm.

Procedure

1. Check whether the speed configurations are different between the two sides. If not, change them to be the same.

2. If the configurations are the same, check the connections on the two sides. Modify the connection problem, and check whether the alarm is cleared.

If the alarm is cleared, go to step 4.
If the alarm persists, go to step 3.

3. Collect alarm information, log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
