Procedure

1.This trap message is informational only. To clear the alarm, go to Step 2.

2.Run the display mac-address-usage slot slotid command to check whether the actual MAC address usage is greater than or equal to that configured on the board.

  • If the actual MAC address usage is greater than or equal to that configured on the board, go to Step 3.
  • If the actual MAC address usage is smaller than that configured on the board, go to Step 4.

3.Run either of the following commands:

  • Run the undo mac-address command in the system view to delete unneeded static MAC address entries.
  • Run the mac-limit command to reconfigure the upper limit of MAC addresses learned by an interface or VLAN.

Check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 5.
  • If the alarm persists, go to Step 4.

4.Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
