Trap Buffer Description

The number of broadcast domain MAC addresses learned reached the upper threshold. (EntPhysicalIndex=[EntPhysicalIndex], PhyscialName=[PhyscialName], MacLimitVlanId=[Vlan_ID], MacLimitVsiName=[MacLimitVsiName], MacLimitBDId=[BD_ID], MacLimitEvpnName=[evpn_name], TrapSeverity=[TrapSeverity], TrapProbableCause=[TrapProbableCause], TrapEventType=[TrapEventType], MacDynAddressLearnNum=[MacDynAddressLearnNum], MacLimitMaxMac=[MacLimitMaxMac], MacLimitUpthreshold=[MacLimitUpthreshold], MacLimitDownthreshold=[MacLimitDownthreshold]).

After broadcast domain MAC address limit was configured and the trap function for MAC address limit was enabled, the number of learned dynamic MAC addresses reached the configured upper limit.

Impact on the System

1.If you configure the action to be taken to discard, packets will be discarded after the number of learned MAC addresses exceeds the upper threshold.

2.If you configure the action to be taken to forward, packets will be forwarded after the number of learned dynamic MAC addresses exceeds the upper threshold.

Possible Causes

After MAC address limit was configured and the trap function for MAC address limit was enabled, the number of learned dynamic MAC addresses reached the configured upper threshold.

Procedure

1.Run the reset mac-address command in the user view to delete unwanted MAC address entries.

2.Run the mac-limit maximum command in the VSI view to properly reconfigure an upper threshold for MAC addresses that can be learned. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 4.
  • If the alarm persists, go to Step 3.

3.Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.

4.End.
