Impact on the System

  • Cause 1: A loop was detected on the interface that has proactive loop detection enabled after it went Up. The interface was then blocked.

    The interface was blocked.

  • Cause 2: A loop was detected on the interface that has proactive loop detection enabled after it went Up.

    A loop is detected.

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: A loop was detected on the interface that has proactive loop detection enabled after it went Up. The interface was then blocked.
  • Cause 2: A loop was detected on the interface that has proactive loop detection enabled after it went Up.

Procedure

  • Cause 1: A loop was detected on the interface that has proactive loop detection enabled after it went Up. The interface was then blocked.

1.Run the display loop-detect trigger trigger-down all command to check whether there is an interface in the trigger-down state.

    • If so, go to Step 2.
    • If not, go to Step 4.

2.Check whether the interface connection has a loop.

    • If so, go to Step 3.
    • If not, go to Step 4.

3.After removing the interface loop, run the reset loop-detect trigger trigger-down command to unblock the interface, and check whether the alarm is released.

    • If so, go to Step 5.
    • If not, go to Step 4.

4.Collect alarm information, log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

    5.End.

  • Cause 2: A loop was detected on the interface that has proactive loop detection enabled after it went Up.

1.Run the display loop-detect trigger trigger-down all command to check whether there is an interface in the trigger-down state.

    • If so, go to Step 2.
    • If not, go to Step 3.

2.Check whether loops occur on the interface and the Layer 2 network connected to the interface.

    • If so, go to Step 4.
    • If not, go to Step 3.

3.Collect trap, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.

    4.End.
