Impact on the System

The clock level of the current synchronizing source deteriorates.

Possible Causes

Cause1: If the device uses the fragmented packets on a PTP input interface to obtain the time reference source, the clock class of the current PTP reference source is lower than a specified SSM threshold, and the value of stepsRemoved is 0 for the PTP reference source.

Cause2: If the device uses the 1PPS+TOD interface to obtain the time reference source, the PPS status of the 1PPS+TOD input signals is lower than a specified SSM threshold.

Procedure

1. Run the display ptp all command to check whether the current synchronizing source is a PTP clock source or 1PPS+TOD clock source.

  • If yes, go to Step 2.
  • If no, go to Step 3.

2. Run the display ptp all command to check whether the clock class of the current synchronizing source is lower than the threshold and the value of stepsRemoved is 0.

  • If yes, go to Step 5.
  • If no, go to Step 6.

3. Run the display clock config command to check whether the current TOD format is CCSA or g-8271.

  • If yes, go to Step 4.
  • If no, go to Step 6.

4. Run the display ptp all command to check whether the clock class of the synchronized external clock interface is lower than the threshold.

  • If yes, go to Step 5.
  • If no, go to Step 6.

5. Set the clock class to a larger value on the device where the clock source resides or switch to the clock source with a higher clock level, and check whether the alarm is cleared.

  • If yes, go to Step 7.
  • If no, go to Step 6.

6. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact Huawei technical support personnel.

7. End.
