The ptp packet of the trace source is lost. (hwPtpPktType=[hwPtpPktType])

PTP packets were lost.

In VS mode, this trap is supported only by the admin VS.

Impact on the System

The loss of Announce packets may lead to clock source switching, and the loss of Sync or Delay_Resp packets may lead to out-of-lock.

Possible Causes

The Announce, Sync, and Delay_Resp packets detected on the slave interface fail to be received within a specified period.

Procedure

1. Run the display ptp interface command for multiple times to check whether the number of packets received on the involved interface is increasing.

If yes, go to Step 2.
If no, go to Step 4.

2. Run the display ptp all config command on the peer device and check whether the peer interface configurations are correct, such as the packet sending rate.

If yes, go to Step 3.
If no, go to Step 4.

3. Adjust the PTP interface configuration on the peer interface, such as the packet sending rate, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

If yes, go to Step 5.
If no, go to Step 4.

4. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact Huawei technical support personnel.
