Impact on the System

If the problem remains unresolved, user resources on the interface may be exhausted, and new dial-in users may fail to go online.

Possible Causes

The upper threshold for the maximum number of users supported on the interface was too small.

Procedure

1. Run the display dot1x interface command in the system view to check whether the alarm threshold is too small.

  • If the alarm threshold is too small, go to Step 2.
  • If the alarm threshold is not too small, go to Step 3.

2. Reconfigure a proper upper threshold for the maximum number of users supported on the device.

  • If the upper threshold is successfully reconfigured, go to step 5.
  • If the upper threshold is not successfully reconfigured, go to step 4.

3. Run the display dot1x interface command in the system view to check the number of current users. If the number of users is close to the maximum number of users supported on the device, add an interface board or contact technical support engineers.

  • If the number of users is not close to the maximum number of users supported on the device, go to Step 5.
  • If the number of access users is close to the maximum number of users supported on the device, go to Step 4.

4. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.

5. End.
