Impact on the System

The system will not be affected.

Possible Causes

Cause 1: A new neighbor was discovered.

Cause 2: The neighbor relationship was deleted.

Cause 3: A neighbor was aged because the aging period expired.

Procedure

Cause 1: A new neighbor was discovered.

1. Run the display lldp neighbor command, check whether LLDP is enabled for the new neighbor.

  • If yes, this trap message is informational only and no action is required.
  • If not, go to 2.

2. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

Cause 2: The neighbor relationship was deleted.

1. Run the display lldp neighbor command, check whether LLDP is disabled for the new neighbor.

  • If yes, run the lldp enable (system view) command in the system view of the neighboring device to enable LLDP.
  • If not, go to 2.

2. Run the display interface brief command, check whether a link fault occurs between the local device and the neighbor.

  • If yes, rectify the link fault.
  • If not, go to 3.

3. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

Cause 3: A neighbor was aged because the aging period expired.

1. Run the display lldp statistic command, check whether neighboring node information saved on the local device times out.

  • If yes, this trap message is informational only and no action is required.
  • If not, go to 2.

2. Check whether the interface connecting the local device and the neighbor has been shut down.

  • If yes, run the undo shutdown command on the interface to configure it to go Up.
  • If not, go to 3.

3. Run the display health command, check CPU resource exhaustion to determine whether the link between the local device and the neighbor is congested.

  • If yes, stop the transmission of irrelevant traffic to remove the congestion.
  • If not, go to 4.

4. Collect log information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.
