Impact on the System

If a protection group is configured correctly, the alarm triggers a primary/backup LSP switchover.

Possible Causes

  • Cause 1: The OAM function was enabled only on the source or sink NEs of a tunnel.
  • Cause 2: The tunnel has been interrupted when the OAM function was enabled.

Procedure

1. Run the display current-configuration command to check whether OAM configurations of the ingress and egress of an MPLS tunnel are correct.

  • If so, go to Step 3.
  • If not, go to Step 2.

2. Remove OAM configuration errors.

  • Then check whether MPLS_LSPM_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.121.2.1.45 hwMplsOamFailRecovery is reported.
  • If so, go to Step 6.
  • If not, go to Step 3.

3. Run the display mpls te tunnel-interface command to check whether the detected MPLS tunnel is Up.

  • If so, go to Step 5.
  • If not, go to Step 4.

4. See MPLS_LSPM_1.3.6.1.2.1.10.166.3.0.2 mplsTunnelDown and rectify the tunnel Down fault.

  • If the tunnel goes UP, check whether MPLS_LSPM_1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.5.25.121.2.1.45 hwMplsOamFailRecovery is reported.
  • If so, go to Step 6.
  • If not, go to Step 5.
  • If the tunnel Down fault persists, go to Step 5.

5. Collect alarm information and configuration information, and then contact technical support personnel.

6. End.
