Therefore, if the alarm persists for a long period, protocol packets will be discarded, normal services will be compromised, and the CPU will be overloaded.

Possible Causes

A loop or attack occurred on the interface.

Procedure

1. Obtain interface information based on the alarm information.

2. Check whether Layer 2 loops occur based on the physical link status and configurations.

If a loop occurs, go to Step 3.
If no loops occur, go to Step 4.

3. Locate the fault and remove loops. Check whether alarms are cleared.

If the alarm is cleared, go to Step 6.
If the alarm persists, go to Step 4.

4. Run the arp rate-limit command to adjust the ARP VLAN CAR.

5. Collect alarm, log, and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.
