efm packet max-size

Function

The efm packet max-size command sets the maximum size for an EFM OAM PDU.

The undo efm packet max-size command restores the default setting.

By default, the maximum size of an EFM OAM PDU is 128 bytes.

Format

efm packet max-size size

undo efm packet max-size

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When a Huawei device communicates with a non-Huawei device, you can set the maximum size for an EFM OAM PDU to ensure successful EFM OAM session negotiation.

Prerequisites

EFM OAM has been globally enabled using the efm enable command in the system view.

Configuration Impact

When the size of a received EFM OAM PDU is greater than the configured maximum size, the OAM PDU is discarded as an invalid packet.

Precautions

After the maximum size is set for an EFM OAM PDU, the actual maximum size of an EFM OAM PDU is negotiated by devices on two ends. If different values are set for the two devices, the smaller value is taken as the actual maximum size of an EFM OAM PDU.

Example

# Set the maximum size to 120 bytes for an EFM OAM PDU on GE 0/1/0.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] efm enable
[*HUAWEI] interface GigabitEthernet0/1/0
[*HUAWEI-GigabitEthernet0/1/0] efm packet max-size 120
