Function

The mpls oam fdi enable command enables forward defect indication (FDI).

The undo mpls oam fdi enable command disables FDI.

By default, FDI is disabled.

Usage Scenario

An LSR that detects a defect generates FDI packets to respond to CV or FFD packets. FDI aims to prevent the affected client LSP layer from generating alarms.

For a lower-layer LSP, the source end uses FDI packets to notify the destination end of defects.
When the OAM auto protocol is enabled, the source end of an LSP uses FDI packets to instruct the destination end to stop OAM detection.

Prerequisites

MPLS OAM has been enabled using the mpls oam command.
