The rdi disable command disables remote defect indication (RDI).
The undo rdi disable command enables RDI.
By default, RDI is enabled.
Usage Scenario
RDI helps a maintenance entity group end point (MEP) notify a remote MEP (RMEP) of a fault. If a MEP detects a fault, the RDI flag is set to 1 in continuity check messages (CCMs). The MEP then sends the CCMs to the RMEP to notify it of the fault. After the fault is rectified, the RDI flag is set to 0 in the CCMs to indicate that the fault is rectified.
To enable a MEP to report an RDI alarm to a network management system (NMS), enable RDI. To disable a MEP from reporting an RDI alarm to an NMS, disable RDI.Prerequisites
