The backup up-link track monitor-group command configures a vBRAS-UP to track an interface monitoring group, detecting network-side link faults.
The undo backup up-link track monitor-group command restores the default configuration.
By default, a vBRAS-UP is not configured to track an interface monitoring group.
This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
trigger-down-weight down-weight-value |
Specifies an interface weight for reporting a network-side fault. |
The value is an integer ranging from 1 to 32000. The value cannot be greater than the weight sum of all Down interfaces in an interface monitoring group. |
monitor-group group-name |
Specifies the name of an interface monitoring group. |
The value is a string of 1 to 31 characters. |
Usage Scenario
In a CU separation UP dual-device hot backup scenario, if a network-side interface goes Down, the vBRAS-CP cannot detect the Down event and therefore do not switch traffic to the secondary link. As a result, traffic is overloaded or lost. To enable the vBRAS-CP to detect network-side faults, configure an interface monitoring group, add network-side interfaces to the interface monitoring group, and run the backup up-link track monitor-group command to configure a vBRAS-UP to track the interface monitoring group. When detecting an interface fault, the vBRAS-UP reports the fault to the vBRAS-CP, triggering a master/backup switchover.
Prerequisites
An interface monitoring group has been created using the monitor-group command in the system view.
Configuration Impact
After the backup up-link track monitor-group command is run, user-side services are switched to the secondary link if the weight sum of all Down interfaces in a specified interface monitoring group reaches the value specified by.
Precautions
In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
