The client-option38 command enables the device to trust the information in the Option 38 field of DHCPv6 messages sent by the client.
The undo client-option38 command restores the default configuration.
By default, the device does not trust the information in the Option 38 field of DHCPv6 messages sent by the client.
This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.
Usage Scenario
After the client-option38 command is run, the server trusts the information in the Option 38 field of DHCPv6 messages sent by the client and sends the information in the Option 38 field to the RADIUS server. Option38 functions the same as the subscriber-id of Option 82 in DHCPv4.
Precautions
In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
