encapsulation-type

Function

The encapsulation-type command sets an encapsulation type, bitstring length (BSL), and maximum number of MPLS labels for a BIER packet.

The undo encapsulation-type command restores the default configuration.

By default, no encapsulation type is configured for BIER packets.

Format

encapsulation-type mpls bsl { 64 | 128 | 256 } max-si max-si-val

undo encapsulation-type mpls bsl { 64 | 128 | 256 } [ max-si max-si-val ]

Parameters

Parameter	Description	Value
64	Sets the BitString length to 64.	-
128	Sets the BitString length to 128.	-
256	Sets the BitString length to 256.	-
max-si max-si-val	Specifies the maximum number of MPLS labels.	The value is an integer ranging from 0 to 255.
mpls	Sets an encapsulation type to MPLS.	-
bsl	Specifies a BSL.	The value can be 64, 128, or 256.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To set an encapsulation type, BSL, and maximum number of MPLS labels for a BIER packet, run the encapsulation-type command. Multiple devices in a subdomain must have the same BSL.

Prerequisites

A BIER subdomain has been configured using the sub-domain command.
