Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

You can run the protocol command to configure the underlay protocol that advertises BIERv6 information.

On a BIERv6 network, the underlay protocol for advertising BIERv6 information must be configured. To traverse a node that does not support BIER forwarding, enable the static-bift mode.

Prerequisites

A BIERv6 sub-domain has been configured using the sub-domain command.

Precautions

Only one protocol can be configured in a sub-domain. After the static-bift mode is configured, BFR forwards packets based on the configured static forwarding table and does not advertise BIERv6 information.

Example

# Set the underlay protocol that advertises BIERv6 information to IS-IS.
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] bier
[*HUAWEI-bier] sub-domain 0 ipv6
[*HUAWEI-bier-sub-domain-0-ipv6] protocol isis
