dhcp-forcerenew

Function

The dhcp-forcerenew command enables DHCPv4 forcerenew and sets the retransmission delay and retransmission times of a Forcerenew message.

The undo dhcp-forcerenew command, you can disable DHCPv4 forcerenew.

By default, DHCPv4 forcerenew is disabled.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

dhcp-forcerenew [ retransmit-interval interval [ retransmit-times times ] ]

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
retransmit-interval interval

Specifies the retransmission delay of a Forcerenew message.

The value is an integer that ranges from 1 to 300, in seconds. The default value is 30.

retransmit-times times

Specifies the retransmission times of a Forcerenew message.

The value is an integer that ranges from 1 to 10. The default value is 3.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If the retransmission delay and the retransmission times are not configured explicitly, default retransmission delay and retransmission times are used.

When the abnormal logoff of a user is not initiated by the user, enable DHCP Forcerenew so that the BRAS instructs the client to send a DHCP Request packet to apply new address.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
