dhcp max-sessions

Function

The dhcp max-sessions command sets the maximum number of DHCPv4 users that are allowed to access a specified board of the device.

The undo dhcp max-sessions command restores the default setting.

By default, the maximum number of DHCPv4 users that are allowed to access a specified board is determined by the type of the board.

This command is supported only on the NetEngine 8000 F1A.

Format

dhcp slot-id max-sessions user-number

undo dhcp slot-id max-sessions

Specifies the slot number of the interface board.

user-number

Specifies the maximum number of DHCPv4 users that are allowed to access a specified board.

The value is an integer that ranges from 0 to 64000.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

To set the maximum number of DHCP users that are allowed to access a specified board, run dhcp slot-id max-sessions user-number command.

Precautions

  • In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
  • The dhcp slot-id max-sessions user-number command does not take effect on the inter interface board trunk interface (the command takes effect on only the trunk sub-interfaces residing on the master interface board). Run the port-access-limit command to configure the maximum number of users that are allowed to access a network through the inter-board trunk interface.
  • The command is not advised to run in inter-board trunk scenarios.

Example

# Set the maximum number of DHCPv4 users that are allowed to access the board in slot 1 of the device to 2046.
