Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When a DHCPv4 user is online and the BRAS receives a DHCPv6 Solicit packet from an DHCPv6 user, if the DHCPv6 user has not obtained IPv6 address authorization, the BRAS sends an Advertise packet with Status Code being UnspecFail to the IPv6 user. However, when some terminals receive such a response packet, they cannot give a reply to the Advertise packets carrying an IPv6 address. To be compatible with such terminals, run the dhcpv6 reply-status-code unspecfail disable command to disable the device from replying Advertise packets with Status Code being UnspecFail.

Precautions

In VS mode, this command is supported only by the admin VS.
